A space for memory and justice: UNTreF inaugurates an interactive table with information about the trials of the repressors
In March 2014, the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTreF) took an important step towards memory, truth and justice with the inauguration of an interactive table made up of 14 all-in-one monitors with touch screens. This initiative, located on the university grounds, aims to provide visitors with interactive access to a wide collection of audiovisual documents that account for the trials of the repressors who acted in this place during the last civil-military dictatorship.
The interactive table, designed with an intuitive and accessible interface, offers users the possibility of exploring a variety of materials, including:
Videos of the trials: It will be possible to view fragments of the testimonies of the victims, survivors and witnesses, as well as the statements of the accused and the arguments of the parties.
Photographs: A wide selection of images documents the crimes committed at the site and the development of the judicial proceedings.
Press articles: Newspaper clippings reporting on the trials and the historical context in which they took place will be available.
Court documents: Case files, minutes and rulings from the trials are included, allowing users to delve deeper into the legal details of the cases.
The interactive table also has a menu that allows users to navigate through different topics, such as:
Crimes committed at the site: Information is provided on the types of crimes that were committed, the victims and the perpetrators.
The development of the trials: The judicial process is explained, from investigation to sentencing, including the roles of the different parties involved.
The fight for memory, truth and justice: The importance of trials for the process of collective memory and the construction of a more just society is addressed.
This initiative by UNTreF is in addition to other projects that the university carries out within the framework of its commitment to memory, truth and justice. These include the creation of the Center for Studies on Memory and Justice, the organization of conferences and workshops on human rights and the appreciation of historical spaces linked to state terrorism.
The interactive table is a valuable resource for the entire community, both for those who wish to learn more about the trials of the repressors and for those seeking to reflect on the importance of memory and the fight for justice.
